This years Western Conference on Safety is now over. With
more than 30 sessions attended by over 630 delegates, another
130 people attending the 4 post-conference courses, 200+ exhibit
staff, 30 speakers, and 15 conference volunteers and staff
it was another busy conference. We haven’t finished
reviewing the participant evaluations yet, but so far it appears
the conference was another overwhelming success. Next years
the conference runs April 12-13. Hope to see you there!

We have received a number of calls asking if there are still
seats available. The answer is YES! Over 525 people have already
registered and we are projecting 600-650 will be attending.
Proof that despite these often challenging economic times,
occupational health and safety continues to be a high priority
in many Canadian organizations. There is still space available
but time is running out. Have you registered yet?

Getting permission to attend a conference these days can
be challenging. Here are 4 key benefits that we suggest you
use to convince your boss that you should attend:
1) Demonstrates that
even in challenging times On-The-Job Safety is still a
top priority in your organization.
2) Workplace
accidents are expensive! They not only hurt people, they damage
product and process machinery. This conference will help save
money by giving you the tools needed to keep your accident/injury
incidents as low as possible.
3) Helps build morale by doing something positive
in these tough times.
4) Attending even 1 day of the conference can
satisfy WorkSafeBC’s
Annual Safety Committee Training Requirement.
